- 2/2/15--- According to WCCHA officials, MSU and UND club hockey teams are invited to join the regular season, 8-team league. Each team will play a series against every team in the league for a total of 14 regular season games. MSU will look to add a couple more non-conference series for a grand total of 20 games. A similar number to years past. The Mavericks are currently the only WCCHA team to qualify for the Central Region Playoffs at the end of the season since first joining the league in 2003-2004.
- 2/1/15--- MSU is currently 7-9-2 after losing the weekend series against UST, 6-5 in OT at All Seasons Arena in Mankato. Then losing again at Highland Park Arena in St, Paul 6-5. It was a hard fought battle for the Mavericks in both games. They travel to Madison, Wisconsin to take on the Badgers club team on 2/6 and 2/7. This will be the final series of the year for the Mavericks. They are hoping for a series sweep to improve their record to 9-9-2 to finish the season with a .500 record.
- 1/31/15--- Final: UST over MSU 6-5: The second game found MSU trailing most of the game after leading 1-0 after the first period. A late power play goal gave the Tommies a 6-4 advantage with less than 5 minutes left. With a pulled goalie, the Mavericks were able to get one goal with just over a minute to play. But that was all they could come up with and lost in heartbreak fashion. President Adam Stuhr had a goal in his last 2 consecutive games played. Jack Diercks tallied 2 goals. Chris Freemark scored what is surprising to most, his first goal of the season, batting a puck out of the air. Blake Williams added the late 3rd period goal off of a well generated offensive rush play. Cory Rickheim finished the game with 2 helpers from the blue line. Charlie Bucholtz finished with another 34 save effort on 40 shots, he's now at a 5-5 record and a .868% save percentage.
- 1/30/15--- Final: UST over MSU 6-5 in OT: After having two leads in the first game (3-1, 5-3) UST rallied to come back and tie MSU with 3 minutes left, then winning the game in an 8-minute sudden death overtime on a lucky bounce of a defenders skate. Jack Diercks had 2 goals, and Charlie McCulloch, Clay Dahly, and Jake Green each scored once. Jordan Staples had 2 assists on the blue line for the Mavericks. Goalie Charlie Bucholtz registered 39 saves on 45 shots on goal. Final shots were 45-37 in favor of the Tommies. Penalties were MSU: 19 PIM, UST: 17 PIM. President Adam Stuhr helped coach and run the penalty box tonight.
- 1/24/15--- MSU sweeps UM-Crookston, 5-3 and 8-2 with only 10 skaters plus a goalie present. Congrats to President Adam Stuhr on his first goal of the season! Charlie Bucholtz with the two wins between the pipes.
- 1/12/15--- MSU Mavericks start up the second semester of the season tonight with 9 pm practice.
